Sandra Georgeson
The Registered Manager For Ofsted
My name is Sandra, I have over 20 years experience working with children and families in my career and my adult life as a mother.
I am a child therapist; a Play & Filial Therapist; and work with children between the ages of 2 and 16 years in a wide range of settings including, family homes, schools, Children’s Centres, CAMHS and Local Authority Care.
I am a registered Play Therapist with The British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT). I have qualifications that reflect my career including BA Hons in Surface Pattern Design, BSc Hons in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy and have completed the Intensive Advanced Filial Therapy training, Adult Attachment Style Interview (ASI), Animal Assisted Play Therapy training, up-to-date trauma and attachment training, a reliable CAPA (Child Attachment and Play Assessment) coder, MIM assessment trained, a SandStory Therapist and I am a registered BAPT Supervisor. This experience and training enables me to work with children and families with a wide range of difficulties and needs. I continue to access training and monthly clinical supervision to improve my practice.
Not only have I built my knowledge, understanding and skills of children and families, over the years but have had the privilege of working closely with families at times when they have been struggling. These families have welcomed me to work with them through day to day difficulties, relationships, past experiences and challenges and I have learned something from every family I worked with and feel honoured to have been a part of their family journey.
When I work in schools; training for the staff has been an important element of the work to support staff and help them help the children. Working with eQUiPT Training Services has been the natural step to develop the training, services and support for schools.
